Cheers to Safe Journeys! City Taxis partners with Abbeydale Road Beer Festival to promote responsible rides.
With Covid related restrictions lifted, the health and safety of our passengers, drivers and staff remain our top priority.
We continue to actively monitor the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation and want to ensure City Taxis passengers and drivers are aware of the best ways to protect themselves and each other when travelling. We would also like to reassure passengers that all our drivers have been advised to closely follow the below guidance.
What are the recommendations for Riders and Drivers?
Masks
As per Government guidance from Tuesday 30th November 2021, face coverings for our customers are compulsory when taking a private hire or taxi journey unless there is a reasonable excuse or you are a child under the age of 11.
Passengers sitting in the front of the vehicle
It is at the discretion of a driver whether they accept passengers in the front seat of their vehicle, where this decision is purely on grounds of concern for their health. Should a customer wish to book a journey for 4 people, a note will be placed on their booking (when booked via our call centre) to ensure an applicable driver is allocated.
Partition Screens
For extra peace of mind, customers will still have the option to request a vehicle with a partition screen, when booking on the City Taxis app (select the ‘Protective Screen’ vehicle option), over the phone or via email.
Our tips to passengers
-
- Wash your hands well and often (or use hand sanitiser) to avoid contamination.
- Choose card payment where possible to avoid using cash. This can be done by downloading the City Taxis app and adding your card details or use our online payment provider Airpay when offered (a link will be sent to you via SMS where a journey is booked through the call center – this is an option service).
- If you are feeling unwell visit the HSE website for guidance and we please ask you not to put others at risk by travelling.
- Passengers are required to travel in the back seat of the taxi. Passengers travelling in the front seat is at the driver’s discretion.
- Most of our vehicles have been fitted with a clear protective plastic screen between the back and front seats. Customers can request a taxi with a protective partition on the app or when booking over the phone.
- Pre-book your vehicle by phone, app or web-booker.
We are working closely with drivers to offer the latest up to date information and advice based on HSE guidelines to keep you safe and have a dedicated response team to handle all queries and questions (details below). Drivers are still being advised to clean their vehicles following each journey and have been provided with PPE and cleaning kits.
Self- isolation support with Citygrab:
If you are required to isolate, our citygrab app may be helpful to you. We have many food outlets which are open and ready to fulfil your orders alongside convenience store staples, groceries and retail items.
You can now request for your order to be delivered via a ‘doorstep drop’. This means that when your driver will knock on arrival then leave your food on the doorstop to avoid any physical contact. You will also be able to track the delivery via a text when the driver is on their way, plus, all payments are taken via the app so you don’t need to handle cash. Please include this in your order notes if you wish to use this service.
